Statement from Family Planning Advocates of NYS President and CEO M. Tracey Brooks

Today, women’s health care supporters are celebrating the election of Sen. Andrea Stewart-Cousins to lead the state Senate’s Democratic Conference. Sen. Stewart-Cousins is a true champion for reproductive health care—protecting and advancing access to care for the women, men and teens of New York at every opportunity. On this momentous occasion, we salute her as the first woman conference leader in New York State history.

We congratulate Sen. Stewart-Cousins and have every confidence she will build on the legacy of strong support within the Democratic Conference for reproductive health care issues, including the Reproductive Health Act.
